Selecting Modules
The first step in selecting your modules (classes are called modules at NUS), is looking at the course equivalency list for Shidler. This list will allow you to see what courses have already been approved and see what are some courses you are able to take. Unlike UH, you do not have much freedom to select the classes you would like to take. When applying to NUS, on the application you have the option to list eight modules that you would like to take and rank them in the order of your preference. For now, you are done selecting your modules and will have to wait till your application outcome to see what modules have been allocated to you.
Once your modules are allocated to you after the application outcome, those module are set until you are able to appeal. Compared to the STAR system at UH, it is very different as the registrars at NUS choose what modules you are able to take. Additionally, if there are additional modules you are allocated and initially didn't sign up for, don't worry, you'll be able to appeal them later! If you want to see what your possible time table could be like, be sure to check out NUSMODS .

Requesting/Appealing Modules
If you are unsatisfied with your allocated modules, you are able to request for modules a week before the semester begins. When requesting modules, be cautious that once the request is submitted, you will be unable to submit a new request. Your will be notified your request outcome a day before the semester starts. From then, if you were still unable to get the modules you wanted, you are able to submit an appeal. However, take note that as there are many exchange students, especially in the business school, there may not be many modules with spots open. Therefore, you may have to submit multiple appeals until a module is allocated to you.
For me, I submitted about 3-4 appeals until I had 4 modules. Additionally, don't worry if your class schedule is not set during the first week. My classes were finally set during the end of the second week of the semester.

Requesting/Appealing Tutorials
Once you have selected your modules, some may require a tutorial session. Compared to your lecture class, these tutorial sessions are held in smaller sizes and either review/preview the material for the lecture to help better prepare you for the class. Again, like the modules, you will have to request your tutorial times you would like and will be allocated by the school system. However, like the modules, if you are unable to get the time you wanted, you are able to appeal for a time switch as long as there are spaces available in the class.
My Modules
Last but not least, these were the modules I have taken during my semester at NUS. Although there are classes back to back, don't worry when selecting the modules as professors usually end their lecture 20-30 minutes before the end time to allow students to go to their next class.
